GOOGLE STATS REVEAL MEDIA'S BIG PRO-CLINTON BIAS
The two leading candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination have problem friends and, as we have noted, the Clintons having far more than Barack Obama. To test how the media has handled this, we took just two names, Tony Rezko and Webster Hubbell and, using Google data, examined how the mainstream media has handled them.
Bear in mind that whatever relationship Obama had with slumlord Rezko, it sinks into obscurity compared to Hillary Clinton's long time business relationship with the criminal Hubbell. If Rezko's relationship to Obama is worth covering, then Hubbell's relationship with the Clintons is many times more so.
But what did the standard media do over the past year?
We found 19 standard media stories about Hubbell and 81 about Rezko. And this doesn't include the current month, where Google lists another 894 news stories mentioning Rezko and Obama, although some of these are not from conventional media. Only three standard media outlets mentioned Hubbell more than once in all of 2007, the Washington Post, four times, the Washington Times three times, and UPI twice.
