TSA COMES UP WITH NEW WEAPON TO CATCH TERRORIST POT SMOKERS

Conspicuously absent from the article is any mention of the harmful health effects of X-rays. It is well-known that exposure to x-ray radiation is a carcinogen, and people with frequent exposure to these machines, such as taxi, bus, shuttle, and limo drivers would have the greatest risk. In the U.S., the mortality rates from cancer are 3219 deaths per million people. The death rate from terrorism in the U.S. (10-year average, includes 9/11) is 1.2 per million people. Arguably, these machine may cost more lives than they might actually save.

But don't let that stop some senator's relative or lobbyist from making millions by insisting this needless boondoggle is necessary.
