THE LIST: STATES WHERE YOU CAN VOTE FOR NADER OR MCKINNEY

Just because
I live in a state dominated by functional idiots doesn't mean I'm obligated to reinforce idiocy by voting for McCain or Obama. Not being a billionaire Bud distributor, a banker, or a defense contractor, I'm voting for Nader. If McCain or Obama wins they've already promised to screw me over. Nader is my only shot. - Cardis

There was a reason that Cynthia's congressional district failed to re-elect her. Her replacement, Hank Johnson, is running without opposition in this highly progressive district. When we had the opportunity to replace her, we seized the moment. Take a hint from those who know her best. - Jan

If you're voting for Obama out of "strategery" then you don't have any principles. - Robbie

SWAMPOODLE REPORT: NO CHILD LAW IS EVEN MAKING LIBERALS DUMBER

It's not news that in an economically devastated place like Detroit, which hasn't even had functioning mass transit since the 1950's, loads of liberals and lefties are clamped like refrigerator magnets to the non-profit foundation funded jobs sector which thrives on the labeling and "servicing at-risk youth," "under-privileged children" or whatever else the social service pros are calling their perpetual funding units du jour.

They might privately sniff a bit at NCLB because G.W. Bush is tied to it, but hey, that shit is a gold mine . Dysfunctional programs are better than good ones, especially in education.

Youngsters are sure-fire meal tickets. And not just for bone-headed Republican think- tankers and the brazen NCLB scammers they've helped to spawn. Libs do just fine swilling from the same trough. And everybody depends on libs to zip their lips when not guzzling. - John A. Joslin ( Detroit non-professional person )

OBAMA MAY NAME CONTROVERSIAL CONGRESSMAN AS CHIEF OF STAFF

Despite agreeing with your concerns about Emanuel, I am from Chicago and let's just say that a lot of what you mention is normal political behavior that is the equivalent of jaywalking in Chicago.

IN OREGON, MAIL VOTE TURNOUT DOWN

When Oregon first went to all mail in voting, I wasn't happy about it. But now I feel much better about it, because vote by mail requires paper ballots, so recounts can be conducted when needed.

18 HOURS A DAY WITH OBAMA & STILL NOT KNOWING HIM

If Prorev readers were paying attention to anyone other than huffingtonpost or commondreams (some irony there), they might find all they need to know about Mr. Obama.

RAND & GREENSPAN

If you start with false assumptions, you build something unsustainable, a house of cards. For example, pure capitalism doesn't foster competition, it destroys it and creates monopoly, and when monopoly merges with government, you have fascism. Pure capitalism can create wealth because it encourages individual initiative, but this can become selfishness and then greed. Despite the wealth that capitalism may create, it encourages hoarding and the creation of an elite, which acts in self-interest, not in the interest of the social spectrum. Profit is usually not the result of good management, but is created by exploiting natural resources and workers, and surviving cut-throat competition. Mankind has survived because for tens of thousands of years, everyone in the tribe pulled together. If things were good, everyone feasted. If they were bad, everyone starved. Now we've got a have-have not world that is an armed camp run by a wealthy, self-proclaimed elite. This is not the "natural order" of things. It's an unsustainable system based on delusion and undone by greed.-- Polar Bear

REPUBLICANS ARE ACTUALLY LOUSY FOR BUSINESS

As a small business owner, I've been saying this for years. Unfortunately, small business consistently votes Republican because they have fallen for the Conservative sales pitch--and the media does not distinguish between IBM and Main Street. The NFIB, as well, seems to be all about big business, but touts itself as being for the small entrepreneurs. You'd think we'd be tired of being scammed.
