The problems we face today cannot be solved by the minds that created them - Albert Einstein

Do you doubt the new Clinton, uh Obama, administration's magic powers?

It's only idiots who've been claiming Obama's admin will have 'magic powers', as far as I've noticed. Most of the people I've spoken with (most of whom voted for him) seem to be pretty aware that the mess GWB left behind is going to take a lot more than four years or even eight years for that matter, to fix.

hmmm. of course, claiming that bush's messes will take "a lot more than 8 years to fix" conveniently absolves obama of any blame or responsibility when he fails to make things any better. (and fail he will.)

how would progressives have reacted to a bush claim that "cleaning up the clinton's mess was such a huge job that nothing that happened in 2001-2008 is his fault!"?

might they have been skeptical? so why is obama different?

You try to have it both ways, 2:56. You sneer at those who alledgedly refer to Obama as a miracle worker, but then snidely suggest that if he doesn't clean up all the messes left by his predecessor in 4 to 8 years (and you're thhe real idiot here if you believe anyone could accomplish that feat of Augean stable cleaning in that amount of time)he's somehow being "absolved of all responsibility" by those who never made those claims in the first place. Since you are no more clairvoyant than the rest of us you have no absolute knowledge as to how his term or terms will end up, accomplishment-wise.

I would assume that any "progressive" here would not be so stupid as you're suggesting by trying to claim that Bush's atrocious reign resulted from nothing more than a failure to "clean up Clinton's messes", and since no one's made that claim either, it seems to me that you're trying to predicate your arguments on a lot of statements that haven't been made, which makes for pretty shaky hypotheses on your part. But frankly, that doesn't surprise me coming from someone whose real agenda here would be to attempt to absolve Bush of any responsibility by attempting some generational sleight-of-hand transfer of messes generated directly from Clinton's hands into Obama's.

you could have saved a lot of precious time & bandwidth, 4:38, if you'd just scrawled "he just IS!" in your hysterical defense of obama/attack on me.

obama will be no more successful ending this depression than fdr was in ending his. hgow do we know this? simple: he's doing everything fdr did - and didn't work - only *more*.

ok, time for your 10,000 word rebuttal. see if you can work in some pop psychoanalysis this time.

Your commentary on my comments is rather more silly and "hysterical" than anything I've written. I'm simply pointing out the illogical inconsistencies in your above remarks.

Frankly, in my own view, everyone's entitled to their opinion; and since most opinions are based on surmise (yours no less so than anyone else's) they're not really worth all that much until proven or disproven one way or the other, and generally not worth arguing about. That's certainly the case here.

FDR didn't end the depression? Huh?
I was alive and kicking during that time Anonymous 11:03; your revelation sure comes as news to me.
