We've arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. That is true. That is why Chris Mooney and Sheril Kirshenbaum will soon publish a new book entitled Unscientific America: How Scientific Illiteracy Threatens our Future. There is a lot of blame that needs to fall on those of the left who fell for the post-modern claptrap that any idea about the world is equally valid. It so allows one to ignore the objective facts of what is really happening.

If you change the words "science and technology" to "government and politics" the quote is equally appropriate, and reveals the method by which those that govern, govern.
