POSTMASTER GENERAL WHO WANTS TO CUT MAIL DELIVERY WAS PAID $800K LAST YEAR

Washington Times - Postmaster General John E. Potter recently warned that economic times are so dire that the U.S. Postal Service may end mail delivery one day a week and freeze executive salaries. But his personal fortunes are nonetheless rising thanks to 40 percent in pay raises since 2006, a $135,000 bonus last year and several perks usually reserved for corporate CEOs.

The changes, approved by the Postal Board of Governors and contained in a little-noticed regulatory filing in December, brought Mr. Potter's total compensation and retirement benefits to more than $800,000 in 2008. That is more than double the salary for President Obama.

I'm sure a Repug would say that this is just another Fine example of Trickle-Down-Economics at it's finest.

Sorta like Wall Street.

My favorite deal about the mail is: those wonderful mass mailings we all love to remove from our mail box to our trash can where we pay to haul them away, well we're subsidizing those mass mailers (as taxpayers). Not only that we're paying for the log roads on public lands whereby Weyerhauser takes our timber at ridiculously minimal cost. Then they waste those trees on those crap advertisements you didn't want in your fucking mail box anyway.

This is what happens when capitalist greedheads are allowed even a toehold in political government.
