Independent, UK - Over 1,500 farmers in an Indian state committed suicide after being driven to debt by crop failure. . . The agricultural state of Chattisgarh was hit by falling water levels.

"The water level has gone down below 250 feet here. It used to be at 40 feet a few years ago," Shatrughan Sahu, a villager in one of the districts, told Down To Earth magazine "Most of the farmers here are indebted and only God can save the ones who do not have a bore well."

Bharatendu Prakash, from the Organic Farming Association of India, told the Press Association: "Farmers' suicides are increasing due to a vicious circle created by money lenders. They lure farmers to take money but when the crops fail, they are left with no option other than death."

It's a great thing for my bank account and my heirs - that people remain willing to kill themselves when they discover I have manufactured their indebtedness beyond ability to ever pay - and the whole world remains completely devoid of the idea to simply prevent me from legally taking their fair share of the pool of wealth they slave away so hard to create.

Keep on massively overworking and accepting extreme underpay so I can keep having limitless overpay for no work at all, humanity! Keep on buying the lie that you must give away your rightful earnings to me for commerce to work. Yeah, that's the ticket! May you neverever wake up and realize you could all have sustainable fairpay justice and peace and plenty for all, instead of universally acquiescing to the very stupid idea to allow wealthpower giants like me to form in every generation and age ad infinitum!

Pass the fish for Christ's sake

(and for your own sake!!!)

This species is going to rid itself of the extremely idiotic idea to have all-grab-all-grab-off-grab-back economics, or it will succumb to the results of having the next and the next and the next wealthpower giants, ad infinitum.

The work is spread. The wealth must be spread as the work is, because only work creates wealth.

Help stop this global insanity of overpayunderpay overpowerunderpower - NOW.

The money lenders are no way working harder/sacrificing more than Indian farmers!

Why can't the world's 6 billion people see the very simple and perfect sense of fairpay-for-all ????????

Borrowing and lending will always be with us because some buggers can't work, some won't work, some can't save, and others won't save. That means there has to be a way to transfer goods and services from the few productive people to the lazy, shiftless, stupid, selfish, majority.

Anon540, you really shouldn't be doing such low-quality trolling here. It's unseemly, and you make yourself look a fool. At least upgrade your act. Please.

Amusing to listen to an elitist little prick who thinks he knows what work is. Ever run a jackhammer 10-11 hours a day 6-7 days a week in southern July-August sun? Ever go home at night close your eyes and see concrete breaking? Ever push a wheelbarrow of concrete a mile inside of a brick kiln plant, dump the load and come straight back for another... all day long. Feels like your arms have stretched a foot longer by quitting time. Ever stand atop a three and a half inch wide wall thirty feet up at four o'clock in the summer heat and marvel that the air is filled with little gray spots... like those you see before you pass out from heat stroke? Ever pick up aluminum ingots with giant tongs ...ingots that have cooled to about six hundred degrees when they're dumped from a conveyor onto a table where it's your job to stack, band,, and haul to storage post haste? It's the working people of the world who have the brains, adaptability, strength , and heart to feed clothe and shelter us all. Too bad their lives are stolen by piss ants .
