CIA WATERBOARDED TWO AL-QAIDA GUERRILLAS 266 TIMES

Guardian, UK - The CIA waterboarded two al-Qaida terror suspects a total of 266 times, according to a report that suggests the use of the torture technique was much more extensive than previously thought.

The documents showed waterboarding was used 183 times on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who admitted planning the 9/11 attacks, the New York Times reported.

The US Justice Department memos showed that waterboarding, which the US now admits is torture, was used 83 times on the alleged al-Qaida senior commander Abu Zubaydah, the paper said. . .

Ignoring for a moment the moral issue, there has to come a point where there is no point.

I think it was grossly unfair of the CIA to keep these suspects to themselves. The relatives of those who were killed on 9/11 should have had a chance to ask them a few questions, too.

For the 911 families, most of those questions concern the complete failure of the most expensive sophisticated and intrusive intelligence apparatus in the world, the standdown of the most expensive sophisticated air defense system in the world, the complete and immediate removal of evidence , the preposterous investigation, the outrageous coverup, the fantasy explanation, and the preplanned wars. I don't think a bunch of Saudi patsies can answer them, but Cheney, Meyers and co. could. How about a little waterboarding for the real criminals?

I could go along with that, Anon342. If anybody has so little feeling-nature in them that torture might be an appropriate modality for getting answers, it's the BushCo monsters. With ObamaCo and ClintonCo not far behind.
