News 6, Tulsa - A push to exhibit the Christian story of creation at the Tulsa Zoo failed four years ago. Republican candidate for Tulsa Mayor, Anna Falling, is bringing the issue front and center. It's the same exhibit and the same arguments, but now it is given from the bully pulpit of a candidate running for mayor.. . .

For Anna Falling, the road to city hall runs through the Tulsa Zoo. She's made her Christianity central to her platform and now the exhibit depicting the Christian story of Creationism is her first campaign promise.

"Today we are announcing that God will be glorified in this city. He shall not be shunned. Upon our election, we hereby commit to honoring Him in all ways that He has been dishonored," said Anna Falling

This guy really should join the Church of Bob, then change his name to Bob. Or God, whatever.

J. R. "Bob" Dobbs is the figurehead of the Church of the SubGenius. His image is derived from a piece of 1950s pop-art. According to SubGenius dogma, "Bob" was a drilling equipment salesman who, in 1953, saw a vision of God (JHVH-1 according to Church scriptures) on a television set he had built himself. The vision inspired him to write the "PreScriptures" (as described in the Book of the SubGenius) and found the Church. The "theology" holds that "Bob" is the greatest salesman who ever lived, and has cheated death a number of times. He is also revered for his great follies and believed to be a savior of "slack". He was assassinated in San Francisco in 1984, though the Church states that he has come back from the dead several times since then.

The quotation marks in "Bob"'s name are always included when spelling his name, according to the Church.

If responsible christian leaders of all the various denominations don't start making loud vocal opposition to butt-heads like Anna Falling, more and more people are going to loose all respect for christianity in general. Despite any good works that have been done in the past.

The world cannot afford to have ignorance in religion, and it is pure folly to think christians can combat fundamentalist talliban Islamists by becomming just as literal in scriptural interpretation and radical in behavior.

Anna Falling should be caged.

This astounding universe we were given to live in is shot-right-through with higher intelligence.

Seriously, is our mad-a-gogo human species the only thing impervious to it?

And, yes, would that the leadership of the sane and loving Christian churches that DO exist PLEASE make more united noise condemning this type egregious misuse of religion.

To Ms. Falling - the American Dream of freedom always included freedom of *AND* freedom FROM religion, Anna Falling. You have forgotten that important first principle, yet you want to govern in this country? On what basis should anyone elect a civil servant who fails to grasp what the great experiment in democracy called USAmerica is all about?

Have a "D'oh!" moment, Anna. The purpose of government is justice - and imposing what is nothing more than your own personal mental construct of what God does and does not believe upon other people, is not justice; it has nothing to do with justice, it is un-justice.

Anna, having "D'oh!" moments is good for your happiness and safety. Having a "D'oh!" moment means you are as smart as Homer Simpson - who is capable of suddenly realizing how very wrong he had been getting it.

I don't understand how "god" is "shunned" in a city with over a hundred Christian churches.
