ECONOMIC BLAME STARTING TO SHIFT TO OBAMA
And while Americans are looking for someone to blame, they appear to be shifting some of that burden from the Republicans to the Democrats.
At 38 percent the GOP still leads in "who's to blame." But that's down from 53 percent in May. Twenty-seven percent say the Democrats are at fault, a 6 percentage point increase from May, and another 27 percent say both parties are to blame.

The trick is can we get that 27% to vote for someone besides the Democrats and Republicans. That would seem to be the next logical step once people have correctly figured out that both parties are to blame.
If that was the base of a political campaign, that means we'd be looking at a race that went something like 36%-36%-27% BEFORE we start trying to convince anyone who doesn't start the campaign believing this.
But that assumes being against the dems or repugs is the same as being for something else specific.
