ROAD SIGNS

It is likely that there will be no blacks in the U.S, Senate next year. Blacks comprise 12% of the population. There will likely be just one latino, the sixth to have been elected to that body since 1920

NY Times - Magazines' newsstand sales plummeted 9 percent in the last six months of 2009, and subscriptions dropped as well.. . . That follows an 11 percent decline from July through December 2007 compared to July through December 2008. Some of the well-known titles with dramatic single-copy declines included W, Newsweek, Smart Money, Time, Good Housekeeping and Redbook. . .

Has the thought crossed anyone's mind there would be more African-American senators these days if the 17th Amendment had never been adopted and senators were still appointed by state legislatures?
