Seminal - The Utah House of Representatives, by a vote of 56-17, has expressed it doubts about climate change science:

The original version of the bill dismissed climate science as a "well organized and ongoing effort to manipulate and incorporate 'tricks' related to global temperature data in order to produce a global warming outcome". It accused those seeking action on climate change of riding a "gravy train" and their efforts would "ultimately lock billions of human beings into long-term poverty".

In the heat of the debate, the representative Mike Noel said environmentalists were part of a vast conspiracy to destroy the American way of life and control world population through forced sterilization and abortion. By the time the final version of the bill came to a vote, cooler heats apparently prevailed. The bill dropped the word "conspiracy", and described climate science as "questionable" rather than "flawed".

However, it . . . called on the federal government’s Environmental Protection Agency to order an immediate halt in its moves to regulate greenhouse gas emissions "until a full and independent investigation of climate data and global warming science can be substantiated".

As Noel explained: "Sometimes . . . we need to have the courage to do nothing."

I wonder why they never bothered to ask any climate scientists? Are they stupid or lying?

They are smart. The evidence points to the "climate scientists" as liars.

Hurrah for Utah!!!

Right. Because the CO2 levels on the planet are totally normal and we've got just as much ice on the planet as 100 years ago. Sea levels are no cause for concern and there isn't anything weird happening in the animal kingdom.

And don't forget that when you do an experiment on a global scale the results are always easy to predict and totally benign.

The only people who challenge climate science are the ones making money from fossil fuels. Politicians in Utah get money from oil and natural gas. They're on the take. If they were honest they would go to the huge amount of scientific papers already published on this subject instead of just dismissing scores of separate studies as simply "flawed".

In science, you have to be specific, and you have to state your positions in ways that can be disproved. Do these people even have the undergrad level scientific literacy to debate this subject?

I'm not making money from fossil fuels and I challenge the warmists, too. Fact is, there is NO clear evidence of warming, NO non-suspect data, and NO transparency in modelling. But there is a lot of money being made by people who are spreading the fear of CO2.

You choose to ignore the evidence. That doesn't mean it's not there. Have you read any of the articles published on this subject? Every industrialized country in the world has commissioned reports on climate change and everyone has confirmed it. There are literally scores of papers published on the subject in all the science journals.

Even the bush administration had to refuse to open it's emails because the EPA confirmed it up and down and sent them reports.

And again, the real money on this debate is from oil and gas people. It takes a lot of money to promote the idea that things are fine and nothing is changing. The energy industry are the liars. That's why the Bush white house worked so hard to censor and mitigate their own climate scientists for years. If you want to see who has the power in this struggle and who has something to hide, look at what's been going on inside the EPA for the last few years.

There is no controversy on this. Stop pretending to be objective. Because you've already decided what you want to believe, no matter what anyone says.
